On 16 December 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Room 3 of Palazzo Pilo Boyl, the DIRPOLIS Institute, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute, is organising the webinar titled “Law and Pop Culture in China: The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin.”

The event brings together scholars from various international institutions to discuss emerging issues at the intersection of law, society, and global transformations. The session will open with introductory remarks by Wu Xueyan, from the School of Law at Chongqing University and Co-Director of the Confucius Institute in Pisa, who will provide an overview of the day’s themes.

The programme will feature contributions from distinguished experts, including Chen Qi (Sun Yat-sen University) and Li Guanyi (Chongqing University), both joining online, as well as Gianpaolo Maria Ruotolo (University of Foggia) and Marina Askenova (IE Madrid). Their presentations will offer multidisciplinary and comparative perspectives, fostering a rich and stimulating discussion.

The initiative is organised by Giuseppe Martinico and Lorenzo Gasbarri of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, who aim to promote a moment of exchange designed to strengthen international academic collaboration and to support innovative approaches to the study of legal and social sciences.
